What is zeolite?

Zeolite is a porous mineral used in some artificial-grass infills and pet-area products. Its internal structure can adsorb certain molecules, which is why it is often marketed for ammonia and odor management.

Why it matters

Zeolite can be one part of a pet-area plan, but it does not remove solid waste, repair poor drainage, or eliminate the need for rinsing and maintenance.

How it is used

Granular zeolite may be applied alone or in an infill blend at a manufacturer-specified rate. Particle size, dust, migration, saturation, and replenishment should be considered.
