Drainage rate describes how quickly water passes through a turf product or tested surface assembly, usually under stated laboratory conditions. It does not by itself describe how quickly an installed yard can absorb and discharge water.

Zeolite is a porous mineral used in some artificial-grass infills and pet-area products. Its internal structure can adsorb certain molecules, which is why it is often marketed for ammonia and odor management.
