Your information

Privacy, in plain English

Start anonymously

You do not need an account—or even an email address—to use the advisor. We save your project answers under a random browser session so you can finish the questions and see your report.

An essential, secure browser cookie links you to that private session. It is not an advertising cookie and does not contain your project answers. The public-beta access screen, when used, sets a separate short-lived security cookie. Blocking or clearing these cookies may prevent you from returning to an unfinished project or report. Dismissing the beta notice saves one preference in your browser's local storage. That preference stays on your device and is not sent as an analytics event.

Contact information is optional

After you see the result, you may ask for help and provide a name, email address, or phone number. That choice is optional and requires a clear consent checkbox. Contact details are stored separately from project answers. We do not currently send them to contractors, suppliers, CRMs, or marketing systems.

You may also answer a one-question usefulness survey and leave a short optional comment. It stays attached to the anonymous consultation and does not require contact information.

If you ask us to email your estimate, we send one transactional message to the address you enter. The email may include clearly labeled sponsored businesses serving your area. We do not add the address to a marketing list, and we do not give the address, your answers, or your estimate to those businesses.

Detailed plans and sponsored listings

The complete public-beta estimate remains available without contact information. A more granular national cost plan is still in private publication review and is not offered to public visitors. If that feature opens later, this policy and the on-screen consent language will explain exactly what information it needs before we collect anything.

Industry sponsorship inquiries

Industry organizations may voluntarily provide an organization name, contact name, business email, website, service area, and message so we can evaluate and respond to a sponsored-placement inquiry. We use this information for that business conversation and do not treat it as a consumer lead or enroll the sender in consumer marketing.

Sponsored listings are advertising. A business may appear only when it is active, reviewed, within its sponsorship dates, and recorded as serving your ZIP code or state. Sponsorship never changes the estimated price or recommendations. We record that a listing appeared and whether its website or phone link was used, but the click record does not contain your answers or contact information.

Viewing or clicking a sponsored listing is not consent to share data. If a named-business introduction is offered, the form identifies that one recipient and asks for separate permission. Until delivery is explicitly enabled and disclosed, an introduction request remains inside Artificial Grass Shopper.

Measurement services and basic analytics

We use Google Analytics and our own basic usage counters to understand how people find and use the site. These tools can record pages viewed, general device and browser details, approximate location derived from an IP address, and moments such as starting the advisor, finishing it, viewing a report, or saving an estimate. Google Analytics may set or read browser identifiers under Google's own policies. We do not send your advisor answers, ZIP code, street address, map outline, email address, or phone number to Google Analytics.

You can learn how Google handles analytics information in the Google Privacy Policy. Browser privacy controls, content blockers, or disabled cookies may limit analytics collection without preventing you from using the estimator.

If you choose satellite measurement, partial property search text is sent to the Photon address-search service, which uses OpenStreetMap data, to provide suggestions. A selected or submitted address is checked with the U.S. Census Geocoder, and imagery requests are sent to Esri World Imagery so the property can be located and displayed. We store the resulting square-foot measurement and method—not the searched street address, suggestions, or the outline you drew. You can always enter square footage manually instead.

Those mapping and address services receive the network and request information needed to answer the browser’s request and handle it under their own policies. You can review information from Photon, the U.S. Census Bureau, and Esri. Artificial Grass Shopper does not use property-search text for advertising or add it to analytics.

Hosting and security infrastructure may process IP address, browser, timestamp, and request information in ordinary operational or security logs. Artificial Grass Shopper does not copy raw IP addresses into its product-usage analytics. Security-sensitive login controls use a pseudonymous reference rather than retaining the raw address in the application database.

Retention and deletion

You can permanently delete the current consultation and any linked private-review detailed-plan access, contact request, vendor selection, or feedback from the report page. If you specifically choose a named business and request an introduction, we record that business-specific consent and the contact and project-address information needed for that request. We do not treat viewing a sponsored listing as consent. Unfinished anonymous sessions may be removed after 30 days, and completed sessions without a contact request after 90 days. A session with detailed-plan access may be kept for up to 365 days so the plan remains available. Consented contact requests are kept for up to 365 days unless you ask us to delete them sooner. They are not routed outside this application under the current policy.

The deletion control is on the report page and requires the browser session linked to that report. Because an anonymous project is not tied to your identity, losing that browser link may leave us unable to determine which anonymous record is yours without collecting more information than the service was designed to need.

Security and intended audience

We use encrypted connections, secure browser cookies, access controls, and purpose-specific consent records. No online service can promise perfect security, so do not place sensitive personal, financial, medical, or access information in free-text feedback or project notes.

This homeowner planning service is not directed to children under 13, and children should not submit contact information.

Privacy questions and requests
